I had nothing in the fridge for lunch today so I ended up scraping together some stuff to make guacamole, vege sticks and crackers and it was so so good!!

Day 263 (13.07.10)
I made this nifty menu planner today by sticking it in an old frame from the thrift shop (which I painted) and writing straight onto the glass with a whiteboard pen. Hopefully with meal planning and online shopping available here now we can save a few bucks on our food bills.
(obviously this isn't really what we are having for tea this week but it looked heaps better than our real menu!!)
Day 262 (12.07.10)
Home icecream jellytips - there's nothing better!! (sorry Sue!) We hardley ever get them because he comes around while we are at work. Luckily Al saw him coming when he was doing a job just out of town and was able to stick a couple of boxes in the home owners freezer till home time!!
Day 261 (11.07.10)
We had another surprise visitor today, Al's painting 'brother' from Jabiru - Lucas!!!
It was so good to see him, catch up on what we all have been doing for the last 7 years and of course all the news from Jabiru!!!!
Day 260 (10.07.10)
Today we went across to the beach and spent a few hours laying on the warm sand soaking up some sun and building a teepee village from driftwood.
We even had villagers!!!
Day 259 (09.07.10)
Part of the Mackay Festival of Arts this year is the guerrilla knitting project and cool 'knitted graffiti' is popping up all over town and will finish with Town Hall being covered in knitting!!
(this is not in Mackay - I spammed it from a website!!!)
Day 256 (06.07.10)
My Grandma Daphne's birthday today - 96!!!
She's as sharp as a tack, still lives on her own in her own home and doesn't suffer fools or bad meals on wheels dinners!!!
I don't have a current photo here so I dug out the oldies, on left GM Daphne and GP George on a day out, on right Grandma at Mum and Dad's Wedding in 1964.
Day 255 (05.07.10)
This is the baby of the magpie family that visit our yard most days. I think the previous people must have fed them because they don't seem to be too bothered by us walking around doing our jobs!

Day 251 (01.07.10)
Ned got his lego club package today which he loves but for me it just means really long conversations about all the new sets coming out and when can he get them!!!!
Day 250 (30.06.10)
We had a playdate today with a friend I haven't seen in ages at one of our favourite old haunts. I love the massive trees, playground and amenities here but best of all it's right on the shore of a beautiful beach with island views.
Day 249 (29.06.10)
Flicking through a new fave mag (peppermint) in the newsagent and I came across Caro's Rubylime Design ad - I was ridiculously excited like I knew someone famous!! You never know - she might be one day!
Day 246 (26.06.10)
This has needed doing for about three months - the last few weeks we haven't even been opening it because the chances of finding a lid were extremely low and if you even tried to move one thing everything started falling out!! It didn't take long, I chucked out some of the worst plastic (#'s 3, 6 & 7) and now have a nice neat and slightly healthier cupboard.
Day 245 (25.06.10)
Ned wrote my shopping list out for me today and I cracked up laughing at the shops when I saw we needed 'parstar' (pasta)!!!

Day 244 (24.06.10)
A historical day today so I thought I would mark it with this fun pic of our first female pm.
For me it will mean alot more when we have a female pm voted in by the people but until then we will see how she goes. Could she really do a worse job than Kev??!!!!
Day 242 (22.06.10)
Got this washing basket for our room at the thrift shop today - a quick spray of paint and it looks great.
(cute pyramid doorstop made by Caro)
Day 240 (20.06.10)
Ali went to get Jar from her friends house today and on the way home they saw these buildings on fire - these are live action shots off Jar's phone!!
Day 239 (19.06.10)
Ali's home today and we couldn't wait to see him. Ned gave him and quick wave and bolted to the doors for a big hug - Jar and I weren't far behind him!!
Day 237 (17.06.10)
We have been trying to do some organising around here, dumping, donating and recycling!
Book case is done, I got rid of everything I could bear to part with and, ahem, put the rest in colour order - a little bit OCD but it looks so good!!!
