Boulder Creek

Jo & Wayne found this place out the back of Kuttabul where they live & we went out to picnic with them and Mum & Dad. It is so beautiful - really thick rainforest with running creeks right in amongst the cane fields!!

Picture perfect !

Al's 37th Birthday

Al had a nice relaxing birthday, with a quiet day at home & dinner at the Eimeo that night.

Glenelg

Check out our fancy digs we stayed in at Glenelg with Kelli and Stu!! We had left it a little late to book an apartment so we found this in the phone book and lets just say it made for an interesting night!!! It was 96 years old and not much had been done since - it was the worst nights sleep - Ali and my sheets were so old they were all pilling (Al calls them 40 course like the sandpaper!) and Jar's bed had a cigarette burn all the way through! Kelli and Stu on the other hand got beautiful crisp sheets, a tv and a heater!! Bugger!

We still had a great night catching up with a bottle of wine and a beautiful thai dinner and our accommodation gave us plenty to laugh about!!!
Jar got a henna tattoo done down on the beach and started a bit of a trend cause Kel and I got one too!!!

Introducing Tigger (the disappearing doggie!!)

While we were in Adelaide we 'discovered' a beautiful female Cocker Spaniel at a breeders in Meadows so Al, Bill and Barb headed out to meet 'Tigger' and bring her home. Unfortunately she had other ideas and made her great escape that night!! We walked and drove the neighbourhood, did letter box drops, put signs up and I even went on the radio!!!

We are glad to say that Tigger is now home after 4 days on the road, in the hottest weather, with the New Years fireworks celebrations going off and being in an area she didn't know.

Xmas in Adelaide

Heres an update of our trip to Adelaide - don't have a great deal of photos because my beautiful new camera stopped working as soon as we arrived!! Lucky Jar brought her little digi so theres a few piccy's!

We had a great Xmas day with all the family, a generous visit from Santa, a full hot lunch (which was great cause it was bloody freezing!!), pudding and all the trimmings!!

Merry Christmas to All

We are flying out tomorrow so a big heartfelt "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to everyone. Hope you have a relaxing peaceful Christmas and a rockin' New Year!! Love to everyone Jacqui, Al, Jarrah and Ned

Conversations with Ned

This is a conversation between Ned and Jar in the car.

Ned - "Jar I've got a girlfriend"

Jar - "No you don't"

Ned - "Yes I do"

Jar - "What's her name then?"

Ned - "Charlotte"
(we are both shocked at this stage cause we really didn't think he had one!!)

Jar - "What's she like?"

Ned - "She's pink.......light pink.........she's clean and sweet.........she's like a fairy"

Ohhh - melt my heart right now!!!!

Jar's Year 7 Graduation

Jar had her break up dinner on Wed night followed by her graduation ceremony on the Thurs night. It was a great night with lots of awards, speeches and a fantastic powerpoint presentation of the year.
All the girls looked beautiful and I think some of the boys wished they dressed up like this at the beginning of the year - not when they are saying goodbye!!
We celebrated Jar's last day of primary school ever with a bottle of champers!!

Camping at the Cape

We have just got back from a fantastic camping trip at to Cape Hillsborough National Park and we had a very relaxing time. We camped right on the beach and we ate, drank beer, swum, ate, drank beer..... You get the idea!! Al and I had hour long massages each and just enjoyed being in nature or more to the point nature came to us. We had turkeys and kookaburra's raiding our tent, a snake at the pool, kangaroos coming into our tent, a green turtle dug a nest in front of our tent and I caught a turkey on a piece of fishing line and reeled it in!!!!
The turkey incident was at 5am when Jar and I saw it hobbling and we could see it had fishing line caught round its feet. I trod on the line and started reeling it in and it went beserk. We ended up tackling it with a towel and it was fully growling (I seriously think I was channelling Steve Irwin at this stage) and flapping but in the chaos the line came undone and it bolted. It didn't even bother to fly it just ran!!!! Anyway when Al woke up and I went to tell him about all the excitement he let me know that he and everyone in the campground already knew!
The green turtles were beautiful, so serious and sad looking. We knew that there was a good chance we would see one so we all got dressed, packed water, camera, torches, told the kids that we would probably have to walk along way and be really patient and we walked out the front of our tent, down onto the beach and Jar said "theres a turtle" about 6 mtrs from our camp!!! She didn't end up laying but spent hours trying to dig her nest. The next morning the beach was covered in tracks from them coming up out of the sea.
