wild weather

 well we went from no rain to heaps............

 the bom looked like this for days

 I'm loving making these drawstring bags at the moment, they're quick, easy and cute!!

 I made this one for putting my car keys, phone etc in and chuck it in my bike basket when we go riding.

a huge one for dirty laundry when we go camping and a mini one for ned to collect his egg money in.

down to earth, the blog and the book

I have followed Rhonda's blog of the same name for ages now and was so excited when I found out she was bringing out a book.  I ordered a copy online for al to give me for my birthday (before i  knew about the bike!!) because I knew this would be a book that I wanted to keep and I'm so glad i did - it's such a beautiful book.

It's that time of year again and once again I was spoilt!!!

jar and al got me a bike that I have wanted for awhile now - I got it early before the boys went to Adelaide.  For the maiden voyage, jar and I did a 8km ride to mum and dad's and back - that's like a marathon for me!!!

 The rest of my spoils and some spending money I recieved!

 jar and I went for mexican - so good - washed down with mojito's and sangria !!

 jar the little sweetie pie surprised me with my fave little lemon pie so I would have a cake on the day. she also tricked me into thinking for a second that it was a little something from Tiffany and Co with the colour of the box!!!  They must be saving that for my 40th!!

 got me an anti coal seam gas shirt to annoy a few people with!!

and got another celebration at mum and dad's a few days later - the table was so pretty!!

puppy.love

A friend brought his lab x puppy over and Ned fell head over heels in love - this boy needs a pup!

pop's.birth.day

 We celebrated Pop's birthday on Sat before the boys flew out to Adelaide with a lamb roast done on the bbq, roasted vege's and a really yummo cake mum made!

 I made pop this throw blanket made out of men's dress shirts and backed with polar fleece - it's so soft and snuggly!

Al and Ned have headed to Adelaide to visit Bill and Barb for 12 days and unfortunately I couldn't go this time. It's my first time without Ned in nearly 10 years so that's taking some getting used to but Jar and I are enjoying spending the nights watching trashy tv and eating what ever we want!!!

At the airport - Ned had gastro for a few days before leaving (and yay he left it with me!!) so he looks a little peaky.

Jar made him pull a sad sick face - soo cute!!

Achievement !

Check out my friend Caro who has received her Diploma of Teaching with distinction!!

I'm so proud of her, it's a hard course to study let alone when you have kids, all their activities, a shiftworking husband and an online shop to manage (not to mention cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing!!!!).

Well done Caro - we're so happy for you!!

I've been helping al on the job for the last few weeks and had to take a pic of this house before he finished up in the area.  It is so close to Woolies it's unbelievable - seriously only enough room to walk single file up the side!!

On the left is the driveway into Woolies and the backyard is literally in the car park and loading zone - it's a crack up!!!

Tuesday was so hot, crazy hot , the hottest I reckon we've ever experienced since living here.  Within  minutes, literally, this massive storm rolled in cooled us down but produced no rain!!

 on one side of the road it looked like this...

and on the other it was blue skies!

it just rolled on in so quickly

and this pic that i spammed from facebook shows it rolling in on the job site where Al is working.

Unfortunately the wind knocked down his doors and damaged them all !!!!

This is such a sweet book that I read to both of my kids but I don't think I ever got through it without crying!!
