Not Happy Jan !!!

I have had so much to blog about & when I went to download my pics they were gone - bloody card error - so I have lost some great photos.......

Any hoo the most important (& saddest loss) was Jo's 40th birthday. We had a dinner at our place with lot's of decorations, helium balloons, champagne and a knock out feast. I also did a montage of her life in photos on our wall which looked awesome (pity I don't have a photo !!!). The next day was all about the girls with a "sex in the city" theme, started with coffee then off to see the sex in the city movie followed by dinner and cosmo's and then off to the rogue traders concert.

We have had a bit more than that happen but it doesn't seem to exciting without photo's!!!

Brace Yourself

Jar's braces are off - finally!!! She was meant to get them off a while back but unfortunately our orthodontist had a gardening accident and seriously damaged his hand. She looks absolutely awesome and she is really happy.

This photo was taken just before we started the whole process - lookin' a little toothy!

School Breakup

At the end of last term we were invited for a little celebration down on the beach to celebrate the first term of school successfully finished (well that's what I was celebrating)!! Well I turned up with a water bottle, an old apple & a squished museli bar for Neds snacks and then all the gals turned up with nibblies, dips and champagne flowing - can't wait to see what they do for the end of year!!!!

Anzac Parade

Ned was so excited about the Anzac Day parade and was counting down the sleeps until it was the big day. He wore Al's Uncle Sandy's war medals and was so proud - unfortunately he was the only one from his class that turned up and he wasnt' keen on marching with the bigger kids so we walked along the edge of the parade!!!

He really wanted me to take this photo of him saluting for Grandpa Bill !!

Term 1 results.

Ned has done so well at school in the first term. He has won 3 gold cards, a student of the week certificate & got the "best of the bunch" award for excellent behaviour in Term 1!! When he gets a gold card he has to go to the principals office to choose a pencil and the first time he got it he said "you should see how many pencils Mrs Ollett has - probably about 10,000 or 6"!!!

Jar got really great results too for first term, passed all the important subjects but failed miserably at sport - I think she gets that from me!!!!!

Earth Hour

Ned really wanted to do Earth Hour after talking about it at school but he fell asleep just as we were lighting the candle - Al, Jar & I did it anyway & took the photos to prove it!!

The great fence of Slade Point.

Look what we achieved in a day & a half. We only had brush fencing up when we bought the house but the wind we have had lately has shredded it and most has fallen off so we decided to try our hands at fencing.
What it looked like before starting.

Our first 'section'
Ned helping Daddy - he really was a great help all day. He passed palings, put the spacer in down the bottom & fetched things we needed.

Me doing my bit.

Even Jedda helped out !!!

Jar & Ned hammering away - our poor neighbours!!

All the side of the house done and starting into the back yard - we got about another 6 metres done more than shown in photo but my camera was dropped & now doesn't work. Not very happy about that - will get it fixed under insurance but it takes forever - am hoping they offer me a new one instead.

Kidz for Fitz

Just a couple of photos of Ned at "Kidz for Fitz" day - a big fundraising event the school does every year.Ned being the cat looking for the mouse.
Obstacle Course

A very hot exhausted sweet boy

Ayr

Ned really wanted to stop at this giant snake at Ayr on the way up so we did on the way back. Not to exciting for us but apparently it is if your a five year old boy.

Reef HQ

Townsville is full of really cool art pieces & sculptures and this big spider hanging above the street in the city was pretty impressive.
Jarrah, Ned & friend at the NQ Museum.
Ned at Reef HQ aquarium - it was a great set up with these huge walls of glass & comfy chairs to relax and watch all the creatures swim by.
Feeding time.

Look at this adorable creature.............

hmmm could be a new species....

"Finding Ned"

Easter Morn.

Just a couple of snaps from Easter morning.

Ned with some of his goodies.

The 'softies' I made the kids for Easter - they are sort of feral rabbit looking things!! Ned loves his so much - he's named it chocolate and hasn't left it alone since Easter. All morning he kept cuddling it & rubbing it on his face - I was pretty happy that I outdid the chocolate eggs he got.

Nice snap of Jar & Ned on Easter morning when she finally got up - the motel had pay tv so she sat up till the early hours watching anything & everything!!!

Ned at the markets.

Easter, Townsville & the whole crazy trip!!

We went to Townsville for Easter this year - it was a trip that we had planned to do but it was a bit up in the air with Al's workload after the flood. In the end we decided to just do it. Life has just slipped into the work, school, home, get ready for work, school, cleaning sort of routine so we wanted to get away from it all, relax and have fun. Sounds good doesn't it? NO! It was more like me having a stomach bug the day before we left and feeling like crap most of the trip up, Ned having school sores & starting a continous whinge of "when are we going to get there" from about 30mins out of Mackay, Jar had a headache & was getting irritated by Neds whinging, which in the end became a fight................. but I think Al had a good time!!!!
Once we got there & had a nice walk along the Strand it all came good and we had a great time!

This is the waterpark on the strand and it is awesome. So much fun & the big bucket on top fills up and then tips over everyone. Apparently we are getting one in Mackay so I hope that happens.
Ned & Al on the water cannons

Jarrah & Ned copping a bucket load!

A bucket load!!

Al picking up his tickets to the Cowboys V Tigers game at Dairy Farmers Stadium. Cowboys lost but he had a good time - didn't get home till 1.00am - he had a little stop off at the Cowboys Leagues Club to support the team!!!!!!
