Chocolate for Fred!
I won a box of fundraising chocolates from Cadburys and one crafty mumma to raise money for the charity of my choice - I chose the Fred Hollows Foundation and we have all eaten our fair share of donations!!
best.crab.dinner.ever!
With our partners away this week, jo, pop and I feasted on pop's delicous ginger mud crab dinner - a recipe he has been using for years!
No talking, just cracking, slurping and making yum yum noises!!!

reduce.reuse.recycle
We had to get a new telly recently (our old one lasted about 13 years!!) but the problem was we wanted to get something a little bigger and none of the big ones fit our wall unit.
So after looking around we decided to convert our old one with the help of a circular saw!!
From this (old photo from when we first moved in)....

For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today. Lest We Forget
te kowai wetland walk
Te Kowai wetland walk is just down the road from us and we do it alot. It's so beautiful and there's never anyone there - in all the times we have gone we have only ever seen one other person - once!!!
easter break crafting.
we haven't done much this easter - alot more lazing around then I had planned but we have done a few little reno jobs round the house (pics to come) and I have squeezed in some craftiness!
We grew grass in eggs again this year...
stuck all our eggs in a vase instead of hanging them from branches - theres just no dry wood around here!
made these bunny peeps - I ended up doing about 7 but they were fun and easy.
The colours are nothing like what they are in this pic.
screened some shirts for gifts - I have done the lego man one heaps but the birds are new
started ned's quilt.
angry birds.
Ned and I got right into the game 'angry birds' when I first got my iphone and we would spend waay to long snuggled up together trying to kill those pigs!!!
Anyway I tried my hand at making his favourite little blue bird and it turned out very cute though he's not as ticked off looking as I wanted!!
and this is as far as I got with a mini pig!
Our friends and family are junk!
Well not really but that's what my computer thinks!! I have just found out that there were heaps of emails from people in our junk folder so if I haven't replyed to emails it's probably because it was in there!!
Sorry !! :(

Regretsy
I love handmade and I would love someday to have an etsy store but I wouldn't want to end up on this site!!
A few of my favourites............
Whoa - that's definately a conversation starter!!
Thank god we live in the tropics and don't suffer cold nose days!!
Wanted: hand model !!!
$175 for an old book wrapped in string???!!!
Remember your paying for real coffee stains....
Man we gonna be rich - I'm going to get Ned to start knocking them up after school!!

Winners and Losers!
We went out for dinner with Mum, Dad and Jo and look who cleaned up on the night - not us!! I have won a few meat trays and grocery bags in my time but never cold hard cash!!
Present for Caro
All wrapped up in a sewing pattern and bias binding - perfect for a sewer!
A little stencil of an antique sewing machine I made her for her sewing area,
and this super cool leather cut out wristband - I loved it so much I bought one for my birthday too!
Wet
(pic taken on way into dump shop - I don't let a 'little' rain cloud stop me from junk shopping!!)
We have had so, so much rain - it just didn't seem like it was ever going to stop.
Since January 1490.6mm of rain has fallen over 69 days!!
Anyway we are drying out now and dealing with heaps of mold, slime and moss!!

Super Saturday
Today we went down to our local oval (Cathy Freeman Oval - yep she's a Mackay girl) to watch Jar's bloke play footy. Not my usual idea of fun but I've been sick lately so I thought laying on a blanket in the shade with a book sounded okay and it turned out to be an awesome way to spend a sat. arvo.
(pics below are taken playing round with my hipstamatic settings)
