Day 187 (28.04.10)

As soon as the boys are in the car out comes the Star Wars book and alot of really loud discussion about each picture!!

Day 186 (27.04.10)

Poor moo - more needles for her and this time she came home with a bandaged leg - we hope this isn't the start of ongoing problems for her but at her age it's pretty likely.

Day 185 (26.04.10)

Jarrah in her new deb shoes - she was off to dance practice to wear them in!!!

Day 184 (25.04.10)

We went to the dawn service this morning and Ned wore Uncle Sandy's medals.

Day 183 (24.04.10)

Our furry little friend who lives in our ceiling - he's a very considerate house guest and doesn't make any noise so we have left him there for now.

Day 182 (23.04.10)

Went and had afternoon tea with Nanny & Poppy today and the kids ended up helping him put in this years corn crop!

Day 181 (22.04.10)

We have been having some serious 'trouble' tournaments after tea lately, theres always alot of begging and pleading from Ned to not send him 'home'!!

Day 180 (21.04.10)

I am really struggling to take a pic each day,
but I am determined to finish, so todays photo is what I'm sitting here looking at - an emptly blog screen waiting for a photo!!!

Day 179 (20.04.10)

Tried my hand at stenciling today and made a cool stormtrooper tshirt for Ned.
It turned out much better than I hoped for a first attempt!

Day 178 (19.04.10)

I spammed this pic from Nic's facebook for my photo of the day - how gorgeous are my nephews!!??!!

Day 177 (18.04.10)

We went to check out 'town beach' today because after 6 years I have never been there and it's really the same as our place just further to go!!
We don't get kite surfers though and they were awesome to watch
I want one of these mirrors - my legs looked long and skinny!!!!
Ned pumping (salt) water
awww a bit of a cuddle on the swing!

Day 176 (17.04.10)

I love, love, love the Twilight books and unfortunately (for me) I thought  the first movie sucked - luckily the second movie didn't disappoint and I loved it!

Day 175 (16.04.10)

I cracked up when I saw this note in our letterbox!!

Day 174 (15.04.10)

Yum - garlic, lemon brussel sprouts with some breadcrumb sprinkled on top, who would have thought sprouts could be so good ??!!

Day 173 (14.04.10)

Somebody had to go to the vets today and have a blood test....
and she was more concerned about the clippers to shave a patch on her arm than she was of the needle!!

Day 172 (13.04.10)

I have heard women say that packing their childs lunchbox is a huge responsibility and how important it is to them that they have provided the food to know their child is well nourished throughout the day and to that I say good on you!!!

I class it as one of my most disliked jobs and I hate the end of school holidays cause I know I have to try and be creative with the 7 things Ned eats!!
Today I was back on lunchbox duty - arrrgghhh!!!

Day 171 (12.04.10)

This is the best thing I can do for myself in the morning and we are still having one most days!!

Green smoothies to go!!!

Day 170 (11.04.10)

It's taken me a few years to decide if I should buy a slow cooker and I finally did it.  I thought this photo would be about how much I love it but unfortunately after 10 hours my potatoes were still hard so back it goes!!  I'm going to get another but not a George Foreman (it was the most compact to store!) - it might "knock out the fat" George but it can't cook a bloody potato!!!!

Day 169 (10.04.10)

Jar came home very early this morning from a week with Jaimi and I was, ahem, nearly there!!
Last time she did this trip she came home at about 2.00am and for some reason thats the time I set my alarm and the driver ended up ringing me really, really p!#$*d off!!!  I was determined to be there on time this time and I was - only I was at the wrong bus stop a street over!!!!
Sorry Jar - maybe third time lucky!!
(Photo should have been of Jar disembarking the bus but I had to make do with a driveby snap of the empty bus!!)

Day 168 (09.04.40)

The makings of yummy roasted tomato and garlic soup!
Check out the size of the locally grown bio dynamic garlic next to the normal (yuk!) Woolies ones.

Day 167 (08.04.10)

One of my most favourite things to do when the weather turns cool - hot bath, cuppa tea and a good book!!

Day 166 (07.04.10)

Ned and I went to see "How to train your dragon" in 3D today.
We loved it.....

Day 165 (06.04.10)

Woo hoo - love seeing the parcel lady come up my driveway!!  Three packages today....
full of beautiful fabrics from USA and two books I have been waiting for.  Best of all it's all free - I used birthday money for the fabrics and Jo gave me an online voucher for the books.

Day 164 (05.04.10)

Pop came round today with his chain saw and helped Al get the coconut tree chopped up and take another palm out.

Day 163 (04.04.10)

Easter lunch at our place - I had a beautiful table laid out this year and forgot to take a pic!!!

Day 162 (03.04.10)

My wet felted eggs were a disaster so I had to change plans and turn them into a nest with a needle felted chick inside.

Day 161 (02.04.10)

I have never had a good result with wet felting but i'm giving it another go for the kids handmade easter gifts.

Day 160 (01.04.10)

Easter bonnet parade today - we were going to reuse last years hat but sometime in the last year it had perished into a lump of hot glue, glitter and feathers!
Just to show why it's so hard to get a good photo at the easter parade - you first have to find your kid in this!!

Day 159 (31.03.10)

Got this book at the thrift shop and Ned loves it - he only lasts for a page or two before falling asleep so I reckon it's going to last for awhile!!

Day 158 (30.03.10)

I had to sit and wait till this extremely long train crossed and just as I saw the last carriage it stopped and reversed all the way back - not what I needed when I was already late!

Day 157 (29.03.10)

Solved my lego in the pockets problem with this nifty waist pouch for Ned to stash his bits in.  Scrap upholstery fabric with a fly screen pocket - perfect.  Tried out iron on printer transfers for the first time and they are great - Ned wants a shirt with a picture of himself on it!!!!
Now I have to make one for Ned's bff Riley - his Mum has the same problem!!

Day 156 (28.03.10)

Ned has been asking since last year if we can go to Macca's to have brekkie - well he got lucky today!  We had an hour to kill before picking Jar up so we had good coffee and Ned (finally) got his hotcakes!!
(Bad picture taken on phone)

Day 155 (27.03.10)

We set Ned up to make a centrepiece for our easter table, it only took about 5 days to grow this much.

Day 154 (26.03.10)

Ned got a gold card today - he wanted to have the picture taken with the card balancing on his shoulder (??) !!

Day 153 (25.03.10)

A few new additions to the egg tree - I have eaten way too much egg white in the past so we decorated some foam eggs this year!

Day 152 (24.03.10)

Spent a couple of hours on my own today, watching tv and cutting out pieces for my next project - bliss!!!

Day 151 (23.03.10)

This is what I get out of Ned's pockets - every pair!!
I have a container in the laundry to collect it all in.

Day 150 (22.03.10)

No power and no water still so we entertained our selves with another night of board (bored!!) games.  We were prepared for the loss of power but not so much the water.  We had plenty of drinking water but didn't think of filling the tub or anything and after Al twisted his ankle the night before looking for the mains in the dark I got the job of filling buckets of water from the pool to flush the toilet!!!

Day 149 (21.03.10)

Well it did end up getting a bit scary here and we evacuated into Jar's room as our windows were shaking and our skylight was flapping and banging!  Power went off fairly early - Al and I saw the green flash as it blew the power and from then on it really started to blow!  It peaked about 1am and the wind was howling around our house with plenty of banging going on outside.  We sat it out, grabbed a couple of hours sleep when it settled down and got up first thing to survey the damage.

A few posts back I was wondering how windy it has to get to knock the coconuts down and now I know - except it took the whole tree!!
Sheared off at the base....
A bit of damage at our local store...
Power pole on a bit of a lean...
Heaps of sand washed up onto the road and we were just getting to the good stuff when a wasp flew in the car window and stung Ned so we had to go home!!!
I spammed these out of an email going around but it shows the damage done to the breakwater.
