Super Saturday

Today we went down to our local oval (Cathy Freeman Oval - yep she's a Mackay girl) to watch Jar's bloke play footy.  Not my usual idea of fun but I've been sick lately so I thought laying on a blanket in the shade with a book sounded okay and it turned out to be an awesome way to spend a sat. arvo.

So Sweet!

This is a regular occurance at our house - any afternoon around 5pm Ned starts peeking out the blinds waiting for his daddy - it's so sweet!!

I love the way old things become new again and anything 'vintage' is very in at the moment but I'm not sure if it will spread into men's fashion................

thirty.seven.today

 thirty seven and I still get a homemade cake from my mum!  This was my fave - lemon yoghurt!

Ps - I wasn't going to post this pic cause of the neck - Al always teases that I have a long neck and over the years I have had 3 comments about my neck length:

1. We went to the doctors in Darwin once about my neck and he made a passing comment on it being quite long (!!!)

2. Once at the pub a guy complimented me on my nice long neck - yeah that was a bit weird.

3. When I had a surgery and I woke up the nurse was telling us how they thought they were using a childs size tube that they stick down your throat but no it was an adult!!  They had to send for a longer one from the private hospital across the road - no wonder I'm sensitive!!

Mandy's 40th!

We went out to Finch Hatton on Friday night to celebrate our great friend Mandy's 40th birthday and had a ball.  Great night, perfect location, awesome people and the best acoustic muso I have heard - seriously!!!

It was really hard to get a good photo cause this drunk guy kept stepping in front of my camera every time I would take a pic!!!

Our bed - the party was at the showgrounds so we popped our boot open and crawled into bed.

Note the glass of water on the end of the car that I made Al get me in the night - I was not feeling well!!!!

We woke up really early and had a walk around the grounds before heading home and this cute pup followed us - I wanted to keep him but he was brindle and male!! (we don't do male or brindle dogs!!)

The beautiful view upon waking - it was so peaceful until I started being violently ill!!!!

Jar and I both got iphones and because we don't want our babies getting scratched I whipped up some covers straight away!!  Put a hanging clip on so I don't have to dig in my bag to find it everytime it rings!!!

Jar's is made out of this super cute owl fabric with circle lining....

and mine is (of course) patchwork - I am seriously obsessed with cutting up fabrics and sewing them back together!!

Not too bad for a first go!

Cross the Country

Ned got involved in the School Cross Country team this year which I have to say shocked the heck out of me!!!  He's a bit like me and not much of a runner but we were so proud that he went to (nearly!) all of his training and actually completed the 2km course on the day. 

Check out that stride!  But where are all the people!!!!
